Owned by Alanna Pilling and Nathan Douglas-Smith Blackshaw Royd Equestrian aims to cater for all levels of horse or rider in any equestrian discipline and all aspects of Horse Care and Management. We can cater for all types of livery including Breaking, Schooling and Competition Livery and Full, Part and Foaling Livery at our professional friendly yard.
Alanna has a wealth of experience in breaking, producing and competing horses for over 25 years in dressage, showing, show jumping and cross country.
She has competed at International Level representing Great Britain in show jumping, she also underwent selection for Great Britain pony team trials in dressage at the age of 15.
More recently, Alanna has taken up British eventing amongst her show jumping events and also hunts with the Rockwood Harriers.
Alanna gained invaluable experience in horse care management when grooming for an Irish International show jumper up to FEI 4* Nations Cup level travelling to CSI 3* Lummen, Belgium, regular trips on the Irish International circuit, CSI4* Yjapya, Finland and CSI4* Drammen, Norway in recent years.
Nathan has a wealth of experience in farming, land management and horse riding/care having grown up in a farming family and with horses all of his life.
He continues to ride with Alanna now and has also groomed on the Irish International Circuit, With this experience he aims to provide the best possible stabling facilities and grazing for you and your horse.
Nathan is an Electronics Engineer by trade and is a Director at a local Fire & Security business. He has installed a top of the range HD CCTV System, Intruder Alarm System and Electric Gates to the site to make your horses, vehicles and all your property as safe and secure as possible.
